Microsoft Teams Integration is now available in the Sprocket Security Platform

Notifications via Teams are now available when integrated to Sprocket Security's Expert-Driven Offensive Security Platform.

The Microsoft Teams Integrations for Sprocket Security allow a user's company workspace to receive notifications from the Sprocket Platform directly in specified Teams channels, so teams can stay informed about security activity without having to check the platform frequently.

Notifications can be sent when:

  • A finding is published
  • A new comment is added to a finding
  • Manual testing begins

How the integrations work

After installation, Sprocket sends event-based notifications to the Teams channels you configure. The integration only posts messages and does not read conversations or monitor Teams activity. All notification behavior can be controlled within your integration settings

Setting up the Teams integration

Installation is initiated from within the Sprocket Platform and the user has to own the channel and have powerautomate permissions. The steps to set up the integration are:

  1. Open Teams and go to the channel where you want notifications (You can create one specific for Sprocket Alerts)
  2. Click the ... (more options) menu at the top of the channel
  3. Select Workflows, then search for Send webhook alerts to a channel
  4. Choose a Team and a Channel to create the workflow and copy the Webhook URL
  5. Paste the Webhook URL in-platform and click Activate

Then you can configure what you would like Teams alerts for within the available settings. Learn just how easy it is to connect your company's Teams with the Sprocket Platform by watching the demo below

Microsoft Teams Integration Troubleshooting
If you receive an error when setting up the Teams integration, check the following:
1. Power Automate app policy
Ensure Power Automate is not blocked in your organization.
  • Go to Teams Admin Center (admin.teams.microsoft.com)
  • Navigate to Manage apps
  • Search for Power Automate and confirm it is allowed
2. Team owner permissions
The Teams channel you are integrating with must have at least one member with the Owner role.
  • Go to Teams Admin Center
  • Navigate to Teams > Manage Teams
  • Select your team > Members
  • Confirm at least one member (the one building the integration) has the Owner role
If neither of these settings can be accessed, contact your Microsoft 365 administrator.
