Slack Integration is now available in the Sprocket Security Platform
Notifications via Slack are now available when integrated to Sprocket's Expert-Driven Offensive Security Platform.
The Slack Integration for Sprocket Security allows a user's company workspace to receive notifications from the Sprocket Platform directly in a specified Slack channel, so teams can stay informed about security activity without needing to frequently check the platform.
Notifications can be sent when:
- A finding is published
- A new comment is added to a finding
- Manual testing begins
How the integration works
After installation, Sprocket sends event-based notifications to the Slack channel you configure. The integration only posts messages and does not read conversations or monitor Slack activity. All notification behaviour can be controlled within your integration settings.
Setting up the integration
Installation is initiated from within the Sprocket Platform and must be done by a Slack workspace administrator. The steps to set up the integration are:
- Log in to the Sprocket Platform
- Select your user name in the upper-right corner of the platform and click Integrations
- Scroll down until you find the Slack Integration card and click Configure. You will be prompted with a modal containing an installation link.
- Authorize the app when redirected to Slack
- Insert the Slack channel where notifications should be delivered. You can also choose which events will trigger notifications. Important: public Slack channels work by default. If you want to use a private channel, invite the bot to that channel in Slack before setting up the integration.
- Save your settings to activate the integration
